We know, cleaning windows is really never something any of us wants to do. However, it is necessary to do every once in a while in order to keep your house looking truly clean and polished. There’s really nothing more annoying than a window that’s streaky and full of rain drops and gunk all around the windowsills. Here are some tips to make your life a lot easier when you conquer the window cleaning.
Starting On The Inside
The first thing you should start with is cleaning the inside of the windows, and make sure you start with dusting the blinds if you’ve got them. Cleaning the slats is one of the most annoying things about cleaning windows, so it’s best to knock it out first. You can attach microfiber towels to tongs to make it a much simpler job and save a ton of time.
Erase Those Streaks For Good
There’s nothing worse than cleaning your windows only to see streaks that have dried on them once you’re done. That’s why it is super important to use a cleaning solution that will keep your windows clean and free of streaks. Simply mix together 2 cups of water, 1/4 cup white vinegar, and 1/2 teaspoon dish detergent. Place it in a spray bottle and clean those windows without ever worrying about streaks.
Tackle The Tracks
We know, cleaning the window tracks is the bane of our existence too. It is so difficult to clean these, but this is a hack that will make it so much easier. Take a sponge brush and dip it in Pine-sol. Then you can easily reach those crevices in the tracks and make sure to keep your window tracks clean and clear for good.
Cleaning Them From The Outside
Most of us avoid cleaning our windows from the outside, and we get it because it can be quite a hassle. A great trick is to use 1/2 cup of Woolite mixed with a gallon of warm water. Use a soft brush and scrub your windows from the outside easily. This solution is great for removing dirt, bugs, and any other crap that has accumulated on the windows. It also doesn’t leave any streaks behind.
Easily De-Lint The Screens
Another overlooked section of the window in terms of cleanliness is the window screen. These attract dust and dirt particles so easily, it can truly be a pain to clean. One of the best ways to do it quickly is to use a lint roller to simply roll away the dirt. The best part is that this will save you tons of time and will help clean everything, including spider webs and dust bunnies.
